The Austrian Red Cross is one of the world's 191 Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, and thus part of the largest humanitarian movement in the globe, with around 8,300 professional and more than 73,000 volunteer employees.
Their tasks include: emergency services, health and social services, blood donation, disaster relief and development cooperation, as well as education and training. The Red Cross understands itself as a helper of the state authorities and is committed to a human and livable society.
