Raising awareness for chronic pain on national level
Following the official launch of the "Societal Impact of Pain - A Road Map for Action" on European level in the European Parliament on 4 May 2011, it is SIP's mission to raise awareness of the relevance of the impact that pain has on our societies, health and economic systems and to exchange information and share best-practices across all member states of the European Union.

New Publication on Chronic Diseases in the EU
Chronic Diseases in the EU: The Prevalence and Health Cost Implications of Chronic Pain
December 2012. Following the first public presentation of the original systematic literature report on the "Reflection process on chronic diseases in the EU - The role of chronic pain" during SIP 2012, the scientific paper by R. M. Leadley et al. was now accepted and published by the Journal of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacotherapy. Please follow the link to the journal's website.
