Recognizing Chronic Pain

Between the two poles "Not to be taken seriously" and exaggerated promises of salvation it is difficult for pain patients to find appropriate therapies for their suffering.

The recognition of the disease "chronic pain" in the catalogue of health insurances would facilitate the establishment of interdisciplinary pain therapies. In addition, it would save costs in the health care system in the long run, thus comments the spokeswoman of Alliance for Chronic Pain Austria, Dr. Erika Folkes.
