SIP met virtually with the Office of MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen

On the 17th of November 2020, the SIP team had the chance to meet virtually with the Office of MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen (EPP, Finland). In addition to MEP Pietikäinen and the SIP team, the meeting was also attended by Joop Van Griensven (President, Pain Alliance Europe) Liisa Jutila (Vice President, Pain Alliance Europe). The SIP team used this opportunity to speak about:

  • SIPs long-term priorities and the 2018 Joint Statement

  • SIPs 2020-21 Policy Priorities (cancer pain policies, employment and social of pain patients, and pain and digital medicine), and

  • The SIP Cancer Pain Policy Paper key facts and key recommendations

The SIP team thanked MEP Pietikäinen for her endorsement of the SIP 2018 Joint Statement. SIP looks forward to continued dialogue and collaboration with the Office of MEP Pietikäinen.
