SIP meets virtually with the Office of MEP Irena Joveva

On the 5th of October 2020, the SIP team had the chance to meet virtually with the Office of MEP Irena Joveva (RE, Slovenia). The SIP team used this opportunity to introduce SIP, pain issues, and SIP’s key 2020 – 2021 policy priorities. They included:

  • Cancer pain policies (feeding into the EU Commission “Beating Cancer Plan” discussions and ensuring that the topic of Pain is included)
  • Employment and social integration of pain patients (ensuring that the reintegration of workers with chronic pain is considered a European priority)
  • Pain and digital medicine (looking at the possibilities for recording and measuring pain, better self-management approaches, the spreading of expertise and care networks to remote areas and other related subjects)

The SIP team also had the chance to share the SIP Joint Statement and the SIP Cancer Pain Position Paper. The SIP team looks forward to continued dialogue and collaboration with the Office of MEP Irena Joveva.
