Ms Nagy explains how the Junker commission is focusing only on job recovery, addressing the problems caused by the economic crisis. The issue on the political agenda now is growth and jobs. Hence, strong economic arguments can be very powerful to influence the political agenda. Another focus that might be of interest to the chronic pain agenda is the one on healthcare workers, in terms of creating more jobs, especially in the healthcare field. The Commission is doing a number of initiatives, such as horizon scanning activities to estimate the future demand of healthcare, training and new skills for care provision, which could also be interesting for chronic pain advocates to look into.
