Experiences from a SIP National Platform in Spain - Poster presentation at SIP 2019
Juan Pérez Cajaraville, Maria Soledad García, César Margarit Ferri – SIP National, Spain
At the first national SIP Spain Forum at the Ministry of Health in Madrid, representatives from patient organisations, healthcare professionals, and regional healthcare authorities came together in December 2018 to establish SIP Spain.
The priority focus areas were subsequently identified as:
- pain as a quality indicator,
- sharing best practices on coordination and
- regional pain plans to ensure continuity of care and treatment of specific patient groups.
Furthermore, areas for future development were identified. Namely, an holistic treatment of pain in care plans, further healthcare professional education on pain and the active involvement of patients in pain treatment were identified as relevant topics to continue working on.
