The Münster Charter, Implementation of high-quality pain therapy

Seven demands were defined and in the aftermath further referenced to demonstrate the need for implementation.

1. Modern Pain and individual pain care

2. Prevention of chronic pain

3. High-quality pain care

4. Accessible and appropriate care structure

5. Implementation of a needs-based pain therapy adapted to the local conditions and requirements

6. General pain therapeutic care needs to integrate as needed without borders in a specialized multi-modal form

7. Permanent quality assurance and a continuous quality check

The Charter has been agreed and supported by the German Pain Society, the Austrian Pain Society, the German Society for Palliative Medicine as well as by the German national Nursing Association.
