Brain Mind and Pain Grant Ceremony 2018

Anca Pop – Pain Alliance Europe, Belgium

The BMP Patient-Centred Innovation Grant has announced three winners (out of 19 applicants) on June 20th in Brussels. “It is the first pan-European grant into pain research and innovation that judges applications based on how patient-centred they are,” said Pain Alliance Europe President Joop van Griensven.

This year’s theme was “Overcoming problems in access to treatments”.

The three winning projects were

  1. MyBrainNet: a central platform for neurological brain diseases (Dystonia Europe)
  2. Master your pain: Improving access to personalized psychosocial treatment of pain due to rheumatic diseases (Groningen University)
  3. Reduce sensorial pain or stress in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASPERGA Association)

The projects were assessed by a jury composed of patients and patient representatives with the support of scientific experts.

The BMP Patient-Centred Innovation Grant is a joint project run by Pain Alliance Europe and financially supported by Grünenthal, with partner support from the European Pain Federation (EFIC), the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), and the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA).
