Pain affects almost 20% of the French Population and as such it can be a heavy burden and a source of handicap. However, the management of pain patients is often inadequate and insufficient. Improving the course of pain care is a real public health issue for all the territories in France.
Unpublished event, organised with the institutional support of the Grünenthal laboratory in France in the framework of the European Initiative "Societal Impact of Pain", the lunch debate aims to bring "ground" lighting to the national reflections initiated in October last year at the First National Forum Against Pain.
This debate will bring together representatives of the public authorities, health professionals and patients from the region AURA to discuss the challenges of the pain care pathway and the initiatives that could be developed to address them, especially In the most predisposed Groups of the population.
This reflection will be based on the proposals of eleven representative patient organisations, health professionals and scientific societies to give new power in the fight against pain in France, which will be presented to you in Introduction of the debate.
The debate will start with Prof. Frédéric Aubrun, President of SFETD, who will present "Pain Management in France 2019: A public health priority?". Following will be the presentation of Franck Telmon, President of Grünenthalon the Societal Impact of Pain initiative. The first part will end with Prof. Gisèle Pickering, SFETD representative to the European Pain Federation – EFIC and her presentation of the advocacy proposals "Call to give new power in the fight against pain".
