3rd International symposium on the "Societal Impact of Pain" (SIP 2012)

SIP 2012: Copenhagen, Denmark, 29-31 May 2012

Following the preceeding two years the aim for this 3rd international symposium on the "Societal Impact of Pain" (SIP 2012) was to show the progress in implementing the "SIP - Road Map for Action" on both EU and Member State level. The Road Map was the key outcome of the second SIP symposium in the EU Parliament/ Brussels in 2011 and outlines seven main policy dimensions on how EU institutions and Member State governments can address the the societal impact of pain in order to improve the management of chronic pain in Europe.

Amongst other, impressive examples of local SIP platforms, the development of pain registries or progress in pain research and education were presented.

On the following subpages you will find the complete SIP 2012 programme, presentations & videos, as well as impressions and further symposium materials.
